spaghetti bolognese

A firm favourite in the nursery, tasty with herbs and garlic and packed full of tomatoes this meal is served plated with sauce oozing over the pasta. This recipe serves 4.

Ingredients:
400g Beef mince
1 Diced Onion
2 Garlic cloves
1 Tin of chopped tomatoes
250g Tomato Passata
2tsps Tomato Puree
1tbs Mixed herbs
400g Spaghetti
Directions:
Cook mince until well browned over a medium/ high heat. Be careful not to burn the mince. Once browned, drain and set aside.
Fry off the onion with the garlic and mixed herbs, until onions are translucent and soft, then add the mince (you can add grated carrot or a pepper to the onions if you wish)
Add tinned tomatoes, passata, and puree (taste and season if needed)
Gently simmer for 45 minutes
Heat a large saucepan of water and add a drop of olive oil
Once the water is boiling add the spaghetti and cook until soft (around 10 mins)
Drain spaghetti and serve with sauce layered over the top
