Our Team

Who works at The Wantage Nursery & Preschool?

Our children spend their time with caring and gentle adults who are fun to be around and who genuinely love being with them.  Our nursery is small and intimate and all the staff know all the children well.  All our staff are well qualified for their role.  Everyone is trained in first aid and safeguarding. All our staff are encouraged and supported in further training in general childcare and in more specialised areas such as Special Educational Needs and also in practical skills like food hygiene.

Delia

Nursery Manager

I have managed settings for over 15 years now and love everything about children and nursery life. I have two very grown up children and a 3 grand children that I adore spending time with. I enjoy the outdoors; particularly challenging myself to stay fit. I have worked here for 6 years and am proud to be manager of the Wantage Nursery. I have a BA in Early Childhood studies and enjoy learning and gaining knowledge, just like the children I work with!

Becky

Deputy Manager and Preschool Room Leader

I have worked in childcare for 15 years and joined the Wantage Nursery in 2010 where I have found a home. I have a diploma in preschool practice and have recently completed my Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner qualification. I really enjoy teaching the Preschool and providing fun activities based on their interests.

I love working at this nursery as it is such a small and friendly team; the children really feel at home and this creates a relaxed and happy atmosphere. I am a cheerful and calm person and my passions are children and animals, particularly spending time with my lovely dogs.

Emma

Tweenies Room Leader

I've worked for the company since 2015 and joined the Wantage Nursery in 2021 as the Tweenie Room Leader. I love all things childcare and have a particular passion for caring for them as individuals, making sure they are all happy and well stimulated. I have recently been learning about children with difficulties and it is fast becoming a new passion of mine to be creative in my planning and include all of our children, in everything we do. I have recently completed my Level  5 Lead Practitioner qualification and enjoy using this to support the team in their development. The Wantage Nursery is a lovely place to work as it is small and we all know all of the children well.

Nursery Cook

I have recently joined the nursery and love creating homemade meals for the children using fresh, seasonal ingredients and I enjoy experimenting with dishes from various cuisines. My approach to cooking has always been centred around nutrition and flavour, especially when it comes to catering to the tastes of growing children. I firmly believe in the importance of introducing children to a
diverse range of flavours and textures to cultivate their palates and foster a lifelong appreciation for wholesome foods.

I live locally with my husband, 2 children and cat. During the summer we go camping as I love to be outdoors!
